The Mackie Onyx 1640 is a great sounding board, no doubt! But it is does something you may not really appreciate until you record with it. I’d compare it to the Ensoniq Paris systems that were very forgiving and let you drive the levels a bit more before clipping thus getting a cleaner and warmer recording. We used it for a season at a local Hall to mix the shows while tracking all 16 channels at 24/96 to a laptop via firmware to mix later in the studio and were really pleased with the results. The forgiveness of the converters made a huge difference in live situations and made the 1640 a real pleasure to use.

96kHz FireWire option for streaming 18 (16ch/2mix) channels of audio to computer with near-zero latency via firewire or thunderbolt. Firewire drivers supported up to Win 7 but worked perfectly in Win 8 on my laptop though not guaranteed with every system or supported by Mackie. Compatible with Mac via included cabling (depending on your system may require Apple thunderbolt to FW800 adapter) Supported under Mac Core Audio, no drivers required. Tested with MacBook Pro. Awsome!!!

The board is in perfect operational condition and maybe a 9 out of 10 cosmetically. It comes with the installed firewire converter/interface and flight case.
