  • Model: Peerless Monarch ASB
  • Manufactured by: Peerless Guitars

The Monarch is truly surprising; a solid woods archtop jazz guitar that sounds and plays like guitar costing several times as more. It certainly earns its reputation as the best value in the jazz world but forget that it is a great value and compare it to anything you like and it does not come up lacking for a thing. The build quality on tone and playability don't make this a great budget jazz guitar but a great jazz guitar.

The sound is old jazz, clear but mellow and sonorous; the sound of solid spruce top back and maple sides finely crafted and a big floating pickup. A sound-post from the factory that dampens the top just enough to make the Monarch guitar feedback resistant. The fretboard is a dream starting at 1.69 at the nut and increasing gradually to 2 1/16 at the 12th fret.”
