StewMac Selmer Brass Saddle with Ebony insert and red leather binding pad.
Argentine Strings

Django's distinctive sound was so much due to the Selmer guitar. This beautiful guitar has "that sound" that is sweet and mellow and yet loud and authoritative. We have tried a few guitars in this price range and found them to be a one dimensional facsimile but were not responsive to touch and attack in the same way that makes these guitars sing. This guitar surely does not compare to a vintage Selmer in that regard but it gives you the basic elements to develop the style and get authentic results... and it is certainly easy on the eyes.

If you are new to the instrument / style, these are NOT like other guitars. The strings are light gauge silk and steel and the action is high off the neck. If you are coming from playing a Les Paul, you will probably think WTH, this guitar is messed up. Nope, thats all part of the sound and technique; thin strings, high action, suer heavy pick. a bottle of red, lots of feeling, humor and attitude and of course La Pompe.
